The Kerr Lake Catfish Association (KLCA) takes pride in promoting the sport of catfishing on John H. Kerr Reservoir/Buggs Island Lake. A growing membership with a passion for
the sport, experiencing the fun and excitement of catfishing tournaments at its best.
Striving to promote the spirit of catch & release, to protect more large fish, allowing them
to live long enough to reach true trophy status. Catfishing on Kerr Lake in Virginia can be a fishing trip landing that trophy cat.
Kerr lake is nationally known for its fishing and home to the second-best trophy catfishing water in the state.
Kerr Lake/Buggs Island is about 48,900 acres at full pool and has one of the best fisheries in the state. Blue and flathead catfish have become very popular, with a tremendous opportunity for anglers to catch trophy cats. Allthough traditionally channel catfish have been the most sought after catfish. With a bunch of good fishermen out on the lake & rivers there's just no telling what might show up at weigh in.
